Innes? Innes, it's Isabella. Isabella Velasco ...' A simple message on an answer machine. But one that made Innes Haldane's blood run cold. Isabella Velasco was a name from a past that Innes had tried hard to forget. For in 1977 both had spent a fateful year at the Unit, an experimental home for dysfunctional teenagers in Edinburgh. Now, after almost three decades, Isabella is trying to make contact. But before she can reach her, Innes learns that Isabella has committed suicide. And shock quickly turns to fear when she hears that another former patient has also recently killed himself. Has some dark event from 1977 finally come back to haunt them all?

'With a writing style and sense of place reminiscent of Val McDermid,The Reunion is a grippingly fast read' Karin Slaughter

'A decade of post-mortem reports, witness statements and knocking on the doors of murder victims has put Walker in touch with the darker side of human relationships more times than most of us would care to share.' Sunday Times

Voted one of the best mysteries of the year by Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel

'Compelling characters, an interesting story, and sharp writing.' Boston Globe

'Like Donna Tartt in The Secret History but think loony bin, not ivory tower, this first-time novelist peels back the layers with confidence and polish. Fans of head-shrinking spine tinglers will be putty in her hands.' US Booklist
